Annemarie began working at SLOW in Jan 2020 as the admissions director. She has previously worked as an admissions coordinator for another mental health program in South Florida, but felt the quality of care was declining and that leadership was no longer putting the clients needs first. When Annemarie heard about SLOW she jumped at the opportunity to work for a facility that puts clients above all else. Annemarie has a true passion for working with clients and families to help them find the motivation to seek help.
Annemarie has had her own struggles over the years with mental health and substance abuse. For so long, she felt so different, hopeless and that no one would ever understand her. She wore many masks and would hide her true self to others which ended up doing more harm than good. It was through treatment, therapy and consistency with medications that she has been able to build a beautiful life for herself. She is truly passionate about working in this field and has been doing so since 2017. Annemarie utilizes all of her experiences over the years to help others find their own path to recovery. Because she is an open book, she utilizes her voice to help end the stigma of mental health. She won’t allow the fear of being labeled with a mental illness prevent her or others from seeking help! Treatment can provide relief from what you are going through, as I know it did for her and many others.
