IOP

Intensive Outpatient

Most clients step down to our Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP), also located at our clinical space, which offers mental health treatment programming three to five days a week, for three hours each day.

As a
program

promoting life skills and overall mental wellness, our IOP hours vary to meet the client’s needs. The average length of stay in IOP is an additional 1 to 2 months. In addition to their programming, clients will continue to be provided with individual counseling and seeing our psychiatrist.

Daytime IOP

Our day time IOP is split between two tracks. 5 day IOP  and 3 day IOP. Both run from 9 am to 12 pm. It is recommended that clients admitting into our  IOP have already completed a higher level of care prior to their admission, but we may be accept direct admissions on a case by case basis.

If you have questions about this, please contact our admissions staff.

Evening IOP

Our evening lOP runs two groups per evening.
One of which is a skills group, the other beina a process
group. Like all of our programs, IOP clients will meet with
an individual therapist once a week and meet with our psychiatrist as needed.

EMDR Offered

EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing) is a therapeutic technique that pairs feelings, emotions, and thoughts with bilateral stimulation, such as eye movements, in order to effectively work through disturbing memories.  EMDR therapy sessions focus on decreasing emotionality and lowering vividness of imagery that is connected with traumatic incidents.  EMDR focuses and utilizes the brain’s ability to learn in order to reorganize previous experiences and develop a new healthier perspective. Our clinical director offers EMDR sessions for clients in our IOP programs.

Other Services Offered

The evening Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) at Southern Live Oak Wellness (SLOW) is most ideal for those who are transitioning from a residential treatment facility, an outpatient Partial Hospitalization (PHP) level of care, or those who need a part-time yet intensive, regular schedule that can accommodate their work, school, and/or family life. The therapists really meet you where you are in your treatment and recovery and help guide you as you continue to develop/maintain a solid foundation of essential DBT and CBT skills. I entered this program after completing 49 days of residential treatment at another facility and while many of the other clients I met in this program completed residential and PHP at SLOW, I always felt welcomed and included. The staff is dedicated, encouraging, passionate, professional, and kind. The environment is nurturing, safe, compassionate, and peaceful. The facility is simply appointed and conveniently located. They actively promote family involvement and encourage development of a solid support system outside of treatment. The clients are dedicated to their own recovery and yet always eager to support fellow clients during the processing groups. As I graduate from the program, I am beyond grateful for my time spent at SLOW, I feel confident in my recovery, and I feel brave and strong as I move onto the next chapter of my journey.
