Frequently Asked Questions

What Is Mental Health?
Mental health encompasses our emotional, psychological, and social well-being. Mental health affects how we act, think, and feel, which lends its hand to how we relate to others, make choices, and handle stress.
If you find yourself in a dangerous mental health situation and immediate assistance is needed, reach out to the Georgia Crisis and Access Line (GCAL), 1-800-715-4225. You may also call 911 in an emergency.
Our average length of stay is 30-90 days, which can involve step down programs. Our goal is to be the last stop in mental health care, which includes comprehensive care from the day of admission all the way through discharge. The clinical team will continually make ethical and concise decisions based out of necessity for each client to reach their full potential within the program.
Inpatient treatment consists of 24/7 monitoring, while residential treatment consists of monitoring, it is often not round the clock. Inpatient is the best option for those with severe mental health issues who need constant monitoring for the sake of their own safety and well-being. The main goal of inpatient treatment is stabilization. Residential treatment is a step down from inpatient care that usually takes place in a more home-like facility. The main goal of residential is clinical care and continuum of care.
Unlike a hospital, our residential treatment program is unlocked and voluntary. Residential treatment usually is the best level of care for individuals leaving a hospital or acute care facility. The average length of stay for residential is 4-6 weeks before stepping down to a PHP or IOP. Group hours are approximately eight hours during the day for psychiatric and therapeutic sessions.
We are not affiliated with a hospital and are a freestanding facility; however, we can be the next step in your care if you are currently in a hospital. We are not a lockdown facility and can provide 24/7 care in our residential facility. Within our facility, clients have shared rooms with one other individual, access to a game room, music room, red light therapy / meditation room, a gym, and an in-house chef.
Partial Hospitalization Programs (PHP) is typically a step down after clients complete a residential treatment. PHP includes more supervision from the facility, which includes monitoring psychiatric symptoms and intake of medication. PHP offers a significant amount of individual and group therapy, which equates to 25 hours per week dedicated to care.
Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) is meant for clients who are not in dire need of medically supervised round the clock care. IOPs are mostly recommended as a step down for patients who have completed a more intensive PHP program. IOP allows clients to enact what has been taught throughout care while still giving clients individual and group hours to receive continued support. IOP typically entails 15 hours of individual and group hours each week.
Yes, all of our mental health therapists hold license in the state of Georgia
Absolutely! While in our program you will be assigned a therapist and a psychiatrist but we can involve your current therapist/psychiatrist to assist and ensure you are receiving the best possible care.
We accept all major insurance carriers. To find out if your insurance covers our program, you can fill out a verification form by clicking above.
World Mental Health Day is October 10th. The overall objective of World Mental Health Day is to raise awareness of mental health issues around the world and to mobilize efforts in support of mental health. The Day provides an opportunity for all stakeholders working on mental health issues to talk about their work, and what more needs to be done to make mental health care a reality for people worldwide.
